Candidate Profile
We are looking for a passionate individual to join our design team, open to learning a range of complex industry-specific software and training to timber frame codes of practice. Attention to detail and accuracy are key requirements for a successful designer, paired with the ability to learn quickly and effectively organise a variety of tasks relating to multiple projects at a time. The familiarity of technical design detailing and visualisation in both 2D and 3D are ideal core skills necessary to produce comprehensive timber frame drawings. Job role–
- To develop the skills required to design off-site manufactured timber frame buildings. This involves producing three-dimensional computer models of the structural timber frame from architect’s and engineer’s designs to create drawings for manufacture and site construction.
- Assist the design office with scheduling materials, producing construction drawing packages and liaising with the company’s production team.
- Communicating with architects, engineers, other designers, site operatives and clients during the process of timber frame design through to construction.
- Learning industry specific computer programs to engineer and design floor joists and roof trusses.
- Assisting with varied other office tasks within this rapidly developing company.

- AutoCAD- preferably the Architecture version, with experience in three-dimensional modelling.
- Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
